The Mount Vernon Country Club is situated in Mount Vernon, Ohio amongst the rolling hills of Knox County. This world class private club is a full service facility with approximately 200 members. The club opened in 1915 and boasts 18 holes of championship golf designed by Tom Bendelow and Barry Serafin. The club hosts approximately 8,000 rounds annually. It is one of the premier clubs in central Ohio and is affiliated with the Northern Ohio PGA Section. The clubhouse went through a significant remodeling in 2006-2007, and the club as a whole continues to invest in improvements which will truely define the club as a premier golf destination.

Our tree-lined fairways, panoramic elevated tees, tranquil ponds and our immaculate greens will bring out the best in your game. The 18-hole, par-72 course provides a challenging and rewarding round for all levels of golfing skill.

The well-maintained fairways and greens are meticulously attended to by the MVCC golf course maintenance team equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. Their relentless monitoring of course conditions means that you’re challenged only by your shot selection and course management.

Club Personnel


Josh Coad

Josh is our Head Golf Professional. He has twenty years of experience in the golf business. He joined the PGA of America in 1997 and became a member in 2004. He was elected as the President of the Columbus Chapter in 2007 by his peers. He has worked at Granville GC, Brook Valley CC, New Albany CC, Moundbuilders CC, Zanesville CC, and Longaberger GC. He has excelled in each position and at each facility with which he has been associated, leaving only on the best terms and for opportunities for growth. He has been nominated every year, and honored with winning two PGA awards, since becoming a full member in 2004. He is also a tournament winning player with an extenssive background in teaching and growing the game of golf.


Nick Durchik

Nick is the assistant Golf Professional at the club. Last season he was the Head Professional at Coshocton Town and Country Club. Nick has recently joined the PGA of America and is beginning his apprenticeship here under the direction of Joshua Coad. He has experience in running the golf operations of a private club, and he is looking forward to honing his skills at Mount Vernon Country Club. Nick resides in Mansfield with his fiancé and his two children. His outside interests include family time, coaching athletics, and cooking.


Dan Offineer

Dan William Offineer was born in Canton, OH in 1957, where he attended Glen Oak High School and graduated in 1976. After high school he attended Hocking College in Nelsonville, OH and received an Associate Degree in Recreation and Wildlife.

At Hocking Tech he met Kathleen Gail Ash (from Stockport, OH). Kay was attending college to receive a degree in nursing and become a Registered Nurse. Three months after they graduated, Kay and Dan married. In September 2009, they celebrated their 31st anniversary and have two sons, Mike and Corey.

After graduating from college, Dan returned to Canton and worked at several local golf courses, including Brookside Country Club. In September of 1980, Dan was hired by Zanesville Country Club as the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. After 17 years of service at ZCC, Dan returned to college at The Ohio State University Agriculture Technical Institute in Wooster,OH in January 1998. There he received an Associate Degree in Golf Course Management.

In September 1999, Dan accepted the Golf Course Superintendent position at Mount Vernon Country Club. Recently he and his family moved to Martinsburg, Ohio. His wife is employed at Visiting Nurse Association of Mid-Ohio (VNA) as a Home Healthcare RN.


Andy Karas

Andy Karas is our assistant golf course superintendent. Andy was born and raised in Coshocton, Ohio and graduated from River View High School in 2001. After high school he attended The Ohio State University and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelors of Science in Turfgrass Management, with a minor in Natural Resources Management.

He has worked at several courses in Central Ohio and beyond, including Hilltop Golf Course in Coshocton, Highlands Golf Club in Pataskala, and an internship at New Albany Country Club. After graduation he spent 2 ½ years up north as an assistant at Eagle Crest G.C. and Resort- Eastern Michigan University’s home course. In the fall of 2007 he became the assistant here at Mount Vernon Country Club.

Andy has a wife Lindsay that has been with him through it all, and a new baby girl Penelope. His outside interests include anything that provides an excuse to be outdoors.
